I would say that from a 'looks' perspective, and getting hold of it (with handle to raise it up/open the legs) and grasping underneath to lay it down again (plus the easy-to-use) draught mechanism, it does indeed seem to be a well made piece of kit. It's not too big and bulky, which I feel is a good thing, and it appears to have non-scorch abilities that ensures the ground is not burned when the item is in use, though I cannot fully vouch for this as yet. The inner grille bars fit well, and the top one, especially. I have already (dry) tested the top grille (for size) by way of accommodating three cooking items - i.e., a cast iron frying pan, an small enamelled saucepan with lid, and a similarly small stainless kettle. [The pan is a 26 cm type by diameter]. This is just about doable if all three are used on the upper grille bars at the same time. It would need the frying pan protruding a little to create space for the other two, but rotating it a few times during cooking would easily deal with any perceived 'cold' parts. But cast iron distributes heat most well, so this may not even be very important.
The Atago also seems to support an FT6 (or FT9) Dutch oven (the flat base type) which is meant to drop into the firepit via a well fitting chamfer. This would mean there'd be good heat retention under the oven (not much heat escaping at the edges) along with great fitting lids that can accommodate hot coals, in addition to those that might be used beneath the oven. All round, Petromax does indeed seem to have got things right with this fire-stove item.
The service from Hill and Dale itself, by way of having the Atago in stock, and getting it to me very promptly, was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend Hill and Dale to friends and relatives.
